Modern Chair Profile
La Chaise by Charles and Ray Eames 1948
Constructed of molded fiber glass this organic free form shell creates a dramatic curvaceous sculptural piece of furniture ideal for office receptions, museums, galleries and modern contemporary homes. An ideal talking point in a room as you can mistake it for a sculptural piece of artwork.

It has chrome finished steel legs attached to a timber four pronged flat base. This free form came from the Eames's collaboration with Eero Saarinen in previous years for the "Organic Design in Home Furnishings" competition at the Museum of Modern Art, New York. Their innovations in chair design and the new technology available for molding fiber glass allowed them to create free form shells for flexible seating. |
