LCM Chair (Lounge Chair Metal) by Charles and Ray Eames 1945-1946
The LCM Chair is one of a group of plywood chairs that was first shown in 1945 at New York at the Museum of Modern Art.It is made of a molded plywood seat and back panel and the legs are still rods with chromium plating finishing.
The feet were originally rubber tipped but Eames later substituted these with self leveling nylon feet.

Rubber mounts were used to join all the elements and provide the chair with some flexibility. The LCM chair come in two heights both dining and lounging. This chair was an easily mass produced low cost item of furniture and you are bound to have seen it in numerous applications.
